On April 15th – 16th we had the opportunity to showcase our work to over 100 facilities managers of various educational institutions from all over Southern Africa at the Schools’ Facilities Conference where Pure Care was a Gold Sponsor.

Speaking at the two-day conference held at St Alban’s College, in his speech, our CEO Chris Kelway focused on the typical water journeys for most educational institutions that are our clients focusing on Pure Care’s 7 key pillars of Water Security and Management ranging from National Water Act Regulations to Water Treatment Plants customized to specific client needs.
The Pure Care team then took attendees on a tour of the St Alban’s Water Treatment Plant built by us where they got to see a practical application of our 7 key pillars, factors that influenced its design, and the return on investment.

The Pure Care 7 pillars of Water Management are Water Usage Analysis, Water Security, Water Regulation, Water Compliance, Water Treatment, Financial Framework, and Value & Learning.
From the above 7 pillars, Water Regulation and Compliance raised eyeballs for many attendees, especially the conversation around obtaining a General Water Use License (GWUL).
A General Water Use License (GWUL) is required by the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) if more than 10,000 litres per day is extracted from a surface/ground source (non-municipal supply) per Erf (s) with a single ownership structure.
Pure Care provides consulting services to apply for the application for a license that on average takes 12 -18 months to complete.
